Manufacturing Plastics Engineer, Injection Molding
We are recruiting plastics professionals that thrive in a dynamic work environment. If you are an organized, multitasking, process driven, problem solver with good communication skills - this is the opportunity for you.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Plastics Engineering, or Mechanical w/ relevant experience
- 3+ years of injection and insert molding experience
- Knowledge of Scientific Molding process development
- 2+ years of ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 13485:2003 experience
- Proven understanding of process validation, to include experience developing, executing and documenting validations (IQ / OQ / PQ)
- Hands-on enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, practices and theories
- Working knowledge of GMP, FDA and ISO requirements preferred
- Statistical analysis experience a plus
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD applications a plus
This position is based in Rochester, NY (Upstate NY region). Relocation assistance is available to the right candidate. Pay Rate: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00, vacation, 401K and health care.
Clean Room Technician - C Shift
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of new or fabricated parts at floor stations.
- Work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifting from one station to another, during the manufacturing process.
- Processes such as inspecting, cleaning, and assembly.
- Tracking parts during the production queue and ensuring quality of final product.
- Identifying units that fail quality tests or tolerance levels and making changes to parts or equipment as necessary.
- Measuring performance of parts and equipment.
- Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations.
- Completing tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
- Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Mold Maker - New Build
Responsibilities:
- Experienced mold-maker who can assemble and disassemble cavities and all related mold components.
- Complete repairs, make new parts, grind, mill, lathe, read work orders, and participate in troubleshooting.
- Will use a variety of hand tools, powered tools, automated tools and precision tools.
Requirements and Skills:
- Min. 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced mold shop.
- Must be highly skilled with surface grinding, manual lathes, and mills.
- Must be experienced in polishing and fitting of injection mold tooling.
- Must be able to read and understand detailed part drawings with GD & T convention and tight tolerances.
- Good command of English is a must.
- A demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with complex multi-cavity injection molds, with or without hot runner systems.
- High speed machining as well as ability to pull electrodes from solids using Cad software.
- Must have own tools.
- Experience with the following a plus: SolidWorks and CNC machining knowledge.
Process Technician - B and C Shifts
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on production molds (i.e. mold cleans, basic insert changes and proper greasing of tools).
- Programming functions and troubleshoot for robotic/automation systems.
- Perform set-up and troubleshooting for injection molding.
- Perform start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Troubleshooting valve gate systems and hydraulic systems on tools.
- Checking production process against documented process, including all support equipment.
- Start-up Inspections assuring the part quality is acceptable.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the plastic injection molding industry as a Process Technician.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Experienced with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparator).
Quality Inspector - All Shifts
Responsibilities
- Inspection of start-up, in-process, final, receiving, and engineering samples.
- SPC Data collection and analysis.
- Identifying, containing, rejecting, and corrective action of nonconforming material.
- Daily communication with operators, supervisors, engineers, and production personnel on problems or concerns with product, machinery, and tooling.
- Train operators in new procedures and software.
Requirements and Skills:
- Experienced with inspection of injection molded parts.
- Proficient with use of Micrometers, calipers, comparator, height gages, and gage pins.
- Familiar with Statistical data collection and analysis.
- Must be self motivated and detail oriented. American Society for Quality Certification a plus (CQT, CMI, CQI, CQE).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word a must.
- Experience with the following a plus: DCC/CMM, Smartscope, Moisture Analyzer, Fixturing, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, Corrective Action Tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc).
- First Article Inspection, Capability Studies, Gage R&R, ISO 9001, ISO 13485.
Sales Representative
Responsibilities:
- Application Development with prospects and existing customers
- New Business development and prospecting for new customers
- Managing key accounts to achieve program success and customer satisfaction.
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in custom injection molding industry supplying OEMs.
- Proven technical sales experience.
- Experience working with medical customers.
- Understanding of the product development process, associated terminology, and quality system requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to understand various processes used throughout Empire Precision, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales staff, and customers.
- Ability to motivate and influence people to achieve customer satisfaction
