Expanding Tool Room Capabilities
We're pleased to announce that Empire Precision Plastics has purchased assets from Advanced Mold & Tooling in Gates, N.Y. This acquisition appreciably expands Empire’s tooling and manufacturing capabilities and dramatically increases our ability to build high cavitation tools used in the medical, industrial, firearms and electronics industries.
With the addition of tool-making equipment such as wire EDM and high-speed CNC milling from Advanced, we will expand the capacity of our in-house tool room. Empire has also obtained several molding machines, which will increase our precision injection molding ability and overall output. We are also growing our talent base, having hired a significant number of designers, toolmakers, and other specialists from the former Advanced.
Empire’s tooling specialists currently review customers’ tool designs and offer suggestions to improve part manufacturability and quality, as well as plan and manufacture plastic injection molds for use in Empire’s facilities. Now, for the first time, Empire will be able to offer tooling-only services to their expanding client base.
